Personal Statement

Art/acting/singing, Role model/inspiration
The lesson was to teach us that every action made on stage has a reason behind it, and I have never been the same since. I realized instantaneously that he had taught me more about being a human being in that class period than I had learned in my fourteen and a half years of living. That I had actual intentions when I spoke was an idea alien to me. On some level, I knew that when I asked my...

Supplemental Essay Using a metaphor

It's really difficult to conceptualize what...

To this day I wonder sometimes if UChicago meant to accept me, but whether or not it was an accident, they did it and now I'm here. It was my dream school and I worked very hard to get here, and part of that hard work meant submitting an incredibly strategic application that ultimately represented ME incredibly well. In a lot of ways I was a very average applicant. I'm demographically very average (white, middle class, have one brother, have two married parents who attended college, etc). I went to a very average high school where I did pretty well...
