Personal Statement

Issue of personal significance

Supplemental Essay “Why us” school essay
213 Words
*I used this essay for Lafayette College, to which I was accepted. Many of my "Why Us" essays were very similar. Northeastern does not have any supplement essays. I’ve always been interested in attending a liberal arts college; however, as someone who wishes to pursue a degree in chemical engineering, it is difficult to find liberal arts colleges that offer specialized, engineering degrees. My advice about getting recommenders
355 Words
Generally, most colleges require two teacher recommendations. I’ve heard that it’s best to have one recommendation from a humanities teacher and another from a science or math teacher. This will also allow you to show colleges that you are a well rounded student by having teachers in two different areas who can attest to your skills in their subject. However, I know several friends who had two recommendations from an English and History teachers and other peers who received recommendations from a Science and Math teacher and have still been accepted into fantastic universities. It’s best to...
