Personal Statement

Childhood memory, Feeling out of place

I wrote about being in a pageant when I was younger. I did not enjoy the experience, and I ended up doing my own thing on stage instead of following the rehearsed choreography. I didn't place in the pageant, but I learned a lot about myself. I wasn't a conventional kid, and I wasn't willing to make myself into someone I wasn't for the sake of honors or praise.
