Even though my parents came to America to improve their lives, the exact opposite occurred. What happened in 2001 came as a shock to me. At that time, I did not understand what a divorce was. All I knew was that I resided with my mom and could only visit my dad on holidays. I began to realize that something was amiss when my mom asked, “Do you love me more than dad,” and my dad asked, “Do you love me...

Boston College 1. What contemporary issue or trend relating to politics, culture, and society, or foreign policy particularly concerns you and why? Response Over the last three years, several people, including my parents, teachers, and friends, have tried to shape my ideas and opinions. Their constant pestering has taught me only one thing: to be independent. Individualism - an abstract concept that can only be loosely defined, shapes my life each day. When someone introduces me to a new idea, I...

Why I declined other schools
559 Words
Financial Aid played a large factor in my decision to choose which school to attend. Wesleyan University offered me a full ride while some colleges asked me to pay up to $20,000 per year (Boston University). USC and BC's package covered everything but $2,500 but had about $6,000 of loans and $2,500 of work study included. Bucknell's package covered everything (Dean's Scholarship) but included $5,000 in loans and $2,500 in work study. Liberal Arts - Wesleyan University offered a chance to explore many different subjects and did not have a core curriculum. At Wesleyan, I will be able to take courses that I would enjoy rather...
