I lost my personal statement (it's on my other computer) but basically I wrote about my uncle who works in the PeaceCorp. I really was interested in Cornell's CALs major IARD and wanted to travel and learn about other cultures. It was for the IARD major: I wrote about when I went to Puerto Rico as a child and stayed at a very nice resort. When we took the bus out of the gated area to site see, my young 12 year old eyes saw extreme poverty for the first time. It seemed so messed up that an expensive and elaborate estate could border so closely to poverty. This experience made me want to work in developing countries.
